69-year-old MLB Hall of Famer dies

The baseball world is grieving the passing of a renowned Major League Baseball pitcher on Friday morning.

According to a statement released by the St. Louis Cardinals, veteran reliever and former member of the Chicago Cubs, Bruce Sutter, died away this week. Sutter was 69 years old.

The Cardinals released a statement saying, "We are devastated by the demise of Bruce Sutter." "Sutter was a key player of the '82 World Series winning squad and a strong pitcher

He has been inducted into both the Cardinals Hall of Fame and the National Baseball Hall of Fame. In this time of loss, please know that your friends and family of Bruce are in our thoughts."

With the Cardinals, he won a World Series in 1982, and two years later he was named to the All-Star team again.

Sutter was inducted into the Cubs Hall of Fame and the Cardinals Hall of Fame before being elected to Baseball's Hall of Fame in 2006.
