Hunt to Make Statements on UK Fiscal Plans on Monday

UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt will speed up public finance reform to reassure investors still wary about Liz Truss's leadership and economic policy.

Hunt will announce "support fiscal sustainability" measures this morning, his office said.

It claimed Hunt met with Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey and Debt Management Office chief late Sunday. Oct. 31 will see the Chancellor's entire fiscal plan.

The new Chancellor said taxes will have to increase and expenditure reduced over the weekend.

Truss has made many U-turns since speculators plummeted the pound and gilts following her pledge for £45 billion in unfunded tax cuts.

She sacked her first chancellor and scrapped business tax freeze and top rate reduction plans.
