Justin Verlander Makes Contract Decision

Justin Verlander, the current World Series winner, has decided on a deal for the next 2023 season.

MLB Network insider Jon Morosi said that the great pitcher has exercised his option to leave his contract with the Houston Astros and become a free agent.

While the Astros offered Verlander a player option worth $25 million, he decided to hold out for a bigger payday elsewhere. 

his season, the 39-year-old veteran made his case for a lucrative contract extension by producing a 1.75 ERA in 28 starts and making the Cy Young Award ballot for the seventh time in his career.

Despite the fact that he recently completed his 17th season in the Major Leagues, Verlander has made it very apparent that he has no plans to retire.
