Manchester United loses ground on Premier League's top four

Manchester United lost ground in the Premier League top four following a 0-0 draw with Newcastle on Sunday.

Chelsea moved three points ahead of United in sixth after winning 2-0 at Aston Villa, with Erik ten Hag drawing for the first time since taking over at Old Trafford.

Newcastle hung on as Marcus Rashford missed Casemiro's cross in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

While United strengthened in the second half, Cristiano Ronaldo had two goals disallowed.

Several penalty appeals, including Sean Longstaff's challenge on Jadon Sancho, were turned down.

Even though De Gea went down, Joelinton still managed to head the rebound onto the post.
