Nash hopeful Nets' Simmons regains 'joy of playing the game'

Steve Nash wants Ben Simmons to rediscover "the thrill of playing the game" after missing all of last season.

As the Nets struggle to a 1-3 start, Simmons has not topped seven points in each of Brooklyn's first four games.

Simmons, the first choice in the 2016 NBA Draft, has been feeling better with each game.

Simmons hadn't played a game since the 76ers' June 2021 Eastern Conference semi-final defeat to the Atlanta Hawks.

Simmons's friends and teammates have been supportive of his comeback efforts.

We're going to have to really gel as a team as he hoops and gets back into it so that we can learn how to win as a group.
