Rochester police say an off-duty officer shot two people, killing one, before killing herself Monday night.
Tiffani Gatson, 29, is a Greece police officer.
Multiple persons were shot at a house on Costar Street near Saratoga Avenue, Lt. Greg Bello of the Rochester Police Department said.
Gatson shot two women before killing herself, authorities said. The state Attorney General's Office discovered the three outdoors.
Rochester's 72nd homicide of 2022 was a murder-suicide.
Bello said Angely Solis, 27, died at the scene and Gatson died soon after she arrived.
The remaining gunshot victim, a 30-year-old woman, was also transferred to Strong. She was recuperating at Strong on Tuesday morning from non-life-threatening injuries.
Since 2015, the Attorney General's Office of Special Investigation has investigated and prosecuted violations originating from police officer deaths, whether on or off duty.
