Police arrest suspect in Dearborn, Michigan Hampton Inn shooting.

The Michigan State Police said that a suspect has been apprehended after a fatal gunshot and hours of discussions at a Hampton Inn in Dearborn, Michigan.

On Thursday night, police said that they had successfully apprehended the barricaded shooter. "As long as the inquiry is ongoing, Michigan Avenue will remain blocked

According to Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin, a 55-year-old Riverview employee "simply trying to do his job" was the lone casualty on Thursday night.

The suspect, a 38-year-old man with a documented history of mental illness and drug addiction, was reportedly equipped with a rifle and made many threats against police officers

Police in Dearborn said they had been in touch with the suspect's family in an effort to secure a compliant surrender.

The cops said the incident started because of a disagreement about payment. According to authorities, customers and staff were evacuated from the hotel.
