Serial murderer in California 'on a mission'

Since last year, a California serial murderer has killed six men and wounded one woman. Police say ballistics testing and video footage connect crimes 70 miles apart in Stockton and Oakland.

The motivation is unknown. Stockton Police Chief Stanley McFadden said it's mission-oriented. This individual is determined.

In April 2021, Oakland had its first homicide. Later, she was hurt in Stockton. Police said five Stockton homicides occurred between July 8 and Sept. 27, all within a few square miles.

McFadden referred to a single firearm at the press conference, however police wouldn't say whether all seven shootings were connected.

"I have no idea why that gun stayed dormant for over 400 days," the chief stated.
Five guys were attacked and killed in Stockton last week. 

 Monday, authorities claimed two other instances last year were linked to the deaths.
