Southwest Airlines chases small firms as business traffic recovers
As the airline sector struggles again, Dallas-based Southwest Airlines is attempting to recruit small and medium companies.
Airlines need such systems because corporate travel managers book first.
According to the Global Business Travel Association, 14% of organisations still have air travel lockdowns after COVID-19.
After travel restrictions lifted in 2021, that number rose swiftly but has bottomed out this year.
Southwest has long boasted that small and medium enterprises are big clients, even though the statistics doesn't.
Smaller clients that buy tickets outside of supervised corporate sales channels are unlikely to appear in statistics.
