Stellantis offers buyouts to certain salaried employees in tech transformation move

Another Detroit Three company is cutting jobs to produce greener, more tech-packed cars.

Jeep manufacturer Stellantis NV said Friday it has given some paid U.S.

55-year-olds and 10-year firm veterans are eligible. 30 year pensioners are also eligible.

Tinson said that workers received a "favourable bundle of perks that otherwise would not be accessible to them."

The company won't say how many of its 13,000 salaried U.S. workers accepted the offer.

The transatlantic combination between Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV and French competitor Groupe PSA aims to catch up in the alternative fuels revolution.
