Toyota reconsidering EVs?

Toyota may revamp its electric vehicle strategy. The corporation wants to minimise expenses and compete in a rising field it entered slowly. If approved, the idea

would be a huge change for the Japanese carmaker. It would also revise the $38 billion EV deployment plan outlined last year to compete with Tesla.

Reuters reports that a Toyota group is planning the revival. The team will also supervise electric vehicle platform enhancements and new architecture.

Some of the 30 EV initiatives announced in December have been halted. Internal papers list the Compact Cruiser and battery-electric Crown.

Toyota claimed it was dedicated to carbon neutrality but didn't provide details. The business told Reuters that its technology and engagement with partners and

suppliers are important to achieving its environmental objectives. The four insiders who reported the company's electric car relaunch programme refused to be named.
