Two more defendants plead guilty in staged automobile collision scheme from 2017
Two additional individuals have pleaded guilty in a 2017 manufactured car crash plot in New Orleans.
Herbert Allen, 37, and Dion Ridley, 23, pleaded guilty to mail fraud conspiracy.
Allen and Ridley plotted to crash Allen's automobile into a tractor-trailer near New Orleans in June 2017.
Both Allen and Ridley lied in depositions to get compensation from the tractor-owner, trailer's driver, and insurance.
Five years in jail and a $250,000 fine await the accused.
Allen and Ridley's guilty pleas bring Operation Sideswipe's total convictions to 41.
