Video Games Might Be Beneficial for Children's Minds, Study Says
Parents, let your kids play one more video game level next time.
Beginning in 2019, University of Vermont in Burlington researchers examined brain activity data from 2,000 9- to 10-year-olds.
The biggest research to investigate the relationship of video gaming, cognition and brain function, they said.
The first exercise required kids to hit left and right arrow keys as quickly as they appeared on a screen.
The second assignment was a face memory game.
The youngsters were given a similar image and asked whether it was the same person, assessing working memory.
