Xbox’s Phil Spencer says the metaverse is a ‘poorly built video game’

Phil Spencer, Microsoft's gaming CEO, is the latest corporate executive to criticise Meta's metaverse.

Meta rebranded from Facebook last year to emphasise its emphasis on the metaverse, which it hopes will be a place to both socialise and work.

Snap and Apple executives also opposed the metaverse at WSJ Tech Live.

The metaverse, according to Snap CEO Evan Spiegel, is "living within a computer.

However, Spencer believes the metaverse will alter.

I doubt everyone will use headsets or AR glasses all day.
